When the chicks have hatched from the egg, you can start providing them with 1075 Alfastart chick feed from the second day. Alfastart chick feed is a high-quality chick starter feed for the first three weeks of their life. It is a complete meal with added pellets and tiny shrimp. Thanks to the mini pellets, this feed is particularly suitable for (the small beaks of) chicks. The dried shrimp (gammarus) we add to this feed makes it extra enticing for the chicks to start eating, and they quickly accept the feed and begin eating. Furthermore, the feed contains a balanced protein content, providing good support during the initial growth.

This rich protein diet for chicks gives them a fantastic start in life. I have given four stars instead of five, just because it’s rather dusty. The chicks were picking the mashed grains while the goodness of the powder was being left. I started to soak the feed a little, not entirely wet, but slightly clumped and moist, and it was to their liking.
